Biography |
Anne Dalton has performed over 8,500 mediations and arbitrations (both court-ordered and private) since 1990.
She attended NYU (undergraduate) and Fordham University School of Law. After passing the New York Bar, she worked sequentially as insurance defense counsel for a Park Avenue law firm (Lloyd's of London syndicates); as Senior Counsel to Radio City Music Hall; and as Business Affairs/Legal Counsel to ABC National News "20/20". She was awarded a Certificate of Individual Outstanding Achievement by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for outstanding legal services to the American Broadcasting Company and also received a CLIO (advertising) International Award as audio engineer for her technical assistance on an ABC radio commercial. She worked full-time as an audio engineer and audio engineering supervisor for the American Broadcasting Company while attending law school full-time.
After obtaining her Florida Bar License, Ms. Dalton opened her current law and ADR firm in Lee County, Florida. As an attorney, she focusses on contracts (negotiation and drafting), entertainment law and government practice. As a mediator and arbitrator, she focusses on general business disputes, HOA disputes, contract litigation, insurance claims, FEMA disputes, probate, and all other business-related disputes. She possesses all of the Florida mediation certifications (circuit, appellate, family, dependency, and county as well as federal) and has been qualified as an Florida arbitrator for over 15 years.
Ms. Dalton was appointed by the 20th Judicial Circuit Administrative Judge as the first General Magistrate and Court Commissioner (now inactive) for the 20th Judicial Circuit and was instrumental in the development of the case management system currently used through the State of Florida. She was the first ADR Professional to serve as a Bar President in Lee County, where the theme for her year was "The Year of Ethics and Professionalism," and the founding and current chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Section there. She current serves as a Presidential Appointee to The Florida Bar Ethics Committee (third term), President Emeritus of the Lee County Bar, as well as a Presidential Appointee Emeritus to the Lee County Bar Professionalism Committee.
