Tom served as a Sutter County Superior Court Judge where he heard a full range of legal matters including, but not limited to, civil and criminal law and motion, felony criminal and civil jury and non-jury trials, writs seeking extraordinary relief, all family law matters, all juvenile matters, all probate matters, LPS conservatorships, and appeals from criminal and civil rulings. During that time, he also served as advisor to the Grand Jury and participated on various quasi-judicial commissions and committees.

Prior to serving as a Superior Court Judge, Tom engaged in a personal injury practice devoting approximately ten years as a defense attorney and seven years as plaintiff's counsel. In addition to a very successful plaintiff personal injury practice, Tom currently is engaged in alternative dispute resolution.

He has conducted in excess of 1,500 mediations and arbitrations on a wide variety of cases throughout Northern California. Tom is a fourth generation resident of Sutter County.
