Biography |
Leslie Anne Miller, Esquire, is a consummate professional in the field of law who has been recognized locally and across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for her leadership in service to the community.
She is currently a solo practitioner engaged in alternate dispute resolution. After acting as finance committee co-chair during Michael Nutter’s mayoral campaign as well as a key member of his transition team, she continues to serve Mayor Nutter as an advisor. Ms. Miller was previously General Counsel for the Pennsylvania Office of General Counsel, the state’s largest legal entity. In this position, she led a staff of more than 450 attorneys in representing Governor Edward G. Rendell and 32 executive and independent agencies in litigation, transactions, regulatory, legislative and criminal justice matters. Prior to her appointment to the Governor’s Cabinet, Ms. Miller was partner and shareholder in the law firm of McKissock and Hoffman, P.C.
She was the first woman elected president of the 27,000 member Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) during 1998-1999 and also chaired the association’s first Commission on Women in the Profession in addition to chairing the House of Delegates and Young Lawyers Division. An awareness that broad-based business and legal acumen can affect positive and lasting change for organizations takes her dedication to volunteerism beyond the pro bono publico of the legal profession. Ms. Miller is especially respected for her success with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts where she took a leadership role in overseeing final preparations for the Center’s December 2001 opening and continues to serve as co-chair of the board of directors. |
