Biography

David Leding Rush was born July 16, 1952, in Paris, Arkansas. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree ‘74 and a Juris Doctorate Degree ‘81 from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

He has been married to his wife, Chandra, for forty-four years and has two children; Tyson Leding Rush and Chelsea Rush Thompson.

Mr. Rush is a retired Commander from the United States Navy and has practiced law for thirty-eight years. He is currently serving as the District Judge for North Logan County. He has recently received training for and has been certified to mediate civil and domestic relations cases.

Immediately after receiving his Bachelors Degree in 1974, Mr. Rush joined the Navy serving as a Naval Officer traveling throughout the country and across the world during his active duty and reserve service retiring with the rank of Commander in 2004.

After completing his Juris Doctorate in December 1981, Mr. Rush opened the door to his law career in Ft. Smith, Arkansas in February of 1982. He subsequently joined Bill Walters and practiced in Greenwood, Arkansas under the firm name, Walters and Rush until 1986 when he returned to practice law in his hometown of Paris, Arkansas. He joined the Hixson, Cleveland, and Rush Law Firm which was eventually changed to Rush & Rush.

Mr. Rush currently maintains law offices in Paris and Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Over the years he has been involved in almost all areas of the practice of law, primarily focusing on personal injury, civil and criminal litigation as well as domestic relations cases.

Mr. Rush developed an interest in becoming a mediator while representing many of his clients in the mediation process. Since becoming certified as a mediator for civil and family (domestic relations) by the Arkansas Alternative Dispute Resolution Commission in February of 2019, Mr. Rush has changed his main focus and is now fully committed to the area of mediation dispute resolution.
