Inga A. Watkins received her Juris Doctor from the George Washington University National Law Center in Washington, D.C. in 1978 where she served on the Editorial Board of the International Law Journal. Ms. Watkins graduated with honors in political science from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1975 where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of a literary magazine and was active in the performing arts. More recently, in 2002, Ms. Watkins ascended to candidacy (A.B.D.) for her Ph.D. in conflict analysis and resolution at the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University. |
Memberships |
Ms. Watkins is currently an Adjunct Professor of Law at Howard University School of Law. She has also served as adjunct faculty at the George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College. Ms. Watkins has served as president of the Old Dominion Bar Association and on the Board of Governors of the National Bar Association. She has also served on the boards of the Virginia Commission for Women and Minorities Under the Law; Unity Center of Washington D.C.; Friends of Women Prisoners; the Institute for Conflict Analyst and Resolution, served as a Member-Large on the Virginia State Bar Counsel, has been appointed by the Supreme Court of Virginia to serve on numerous medical malpractice review panels for Circuit Courts in Virginia; and served on committees and special tasks forces for numerous other community and professional organizations. Ms. Watkins was honored by the Optimist Club with the Woman of Distinction Award and also received the Irene Ryan Award for Outstanding Achievement. Ms. Watkins is an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Arlington, Virginia. |
Biography |
Ms. Watkins is a certified mediator and conflict resolution consultant. She has been retained by private parties and federal agencies and has been appointed by Courts to assist in the resolution of a wide spectrum of disputes and successfully negotiated the settlement of complex multi-party law suits on behalf of her own clients. |
