Judge Jack L. Lintner focuses his practice on alternative dispute resolution, insurance coverage issues and appellate advocacy consultation.
Judge Lintner served 20 years in the New Jersey State Judiciary, appointed to the Appellate Division in 1999. He was a Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division from 2006 through his retirement in 2008. Judge Lintner began his judicial career as a trial judge in the Superior Court in Middlesex Count in 1988, where he spent nine years in the civil court attaining the positions of Presiding Judge of the Civil and Chancery Divisions.
During his tenure as a trial judge, he presided over the State tobacco litigation and dissolution of the Health Insurance Plan of New Jersey. While serving in the Law and Chancery Divisions, he was responsible for setting up and participating in numerous successful court run mediation and settlement programs. During his judicial career, Judge Lintner published over 100 opinions. He served on the Appellate Attorney Standards, the Appellate Division/Assignment Judge Liaison Standing and the New Jersey Supreme Court Civil Practice Committees. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Civil Procedures Section of the New Jersey Bar Association and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law.
Prior to his appointment to the bench in 1988, Judge Lintner’s practice concentrated on civil litigation in both the state and federal courts. He was a Certified Civil Trial Attorney and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey. He specialized in tort, products liability, construction, and insurance coverage litigation.
Judge Lintner has lectured extensively on a variety of topics for the New Jersey Judicial College and the Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He is a recipient of the 2008 James J. McLaughlin Award from the Civil Trial Bar Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the 2001 Distinguished Service Award from the Institute for Continuing Legal Education. He is also a Fellow of the American Bar Association. |
