Biography |
Bob has mediated more than 850 cases involving virtually any subject matter that can end up in a state or federal court, including employment (discrimination, wrongful termination, ERISA, FLSA), commercial (contract, construction, insurance coverage), tort (wrongful death, personal injury, malpractice), civil rights (§1983, ADA compliance), and intellectual property (patent, copyright, trademark) disputes. Cases have involved anywhere from two to 50+ parties, including class actions and collective actions. Bob successfully designed and implemented an in-house mediation program for a U.S. District Court, one of only a few to be attempted in a federal trial court. In addition, he has given numerous presentations, seminars, and training sessions on a wide variety of Alternative Dispute Resolution topics. A mediator since 1999, Bob has devoted his full-time practice to mediation since 2007. He served as the District Mediator for the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio from 2007 to 2012, and as a Mediator for The Center for Resolution of Disputes from 1999 to 2007. An attorney since 1987, Bob's 20 years of legal practice included involvement in a unique combination of complex commercial litigation, employment law, and general business matters. He tried more than two dozen significant cases, practicing at large, medium, and small/solo firms representing clients ranging from individuals to small businesses to Fortune 100 companies. |
