Past President of the Mississippi Bar Association, Don Dornan has been engaged in civil trial practice in South Mississippi since 1977. His experience includes business, automobile, premises liability, product liability, and insurance litigation. He has also represented public and private employers, universities, government officials, attorneys and physicians of all kinds. Don has carried the “AV®†rating by Martindale-Hubbell® since 1990.
Don was inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers and is Board certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Don devotes a portion of his practice to mediation and arbitration. He is a member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Section of the Mississippi Bar. Don has served as President of the Harrison County Bar Association and the American Inns of Court. He is a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation. He previously served on the Ethics Committee of The Mississippi Bar and the Committee on Professional Responsibility.
Don has been included in The Best Lawyers in America since 2005 and has been named Who’s Who in American Law and a Mid-South Super Lawyer. Don currently serves as a member of the Appeal Panel for the Deep Water Horizon Settlement Program. Don was also named the recipient of The Alonzo S. Westbrook Public Service Award by the Harrison County Bar Association in 2009.
Don tries cases in all counties in south Mississippi as well as the federal courts in the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. He is a frequent lecturer on litigation and alternate dispute resolution topics and has argued numerous cases before federal and state appellate courts. |
