Biography |
I am admitted in PA, New Jersey (currently inactive), Federal Court in the Eastern District, and the U.S. Supreme Court (was ecstatic that I had a wrongful death police chase case go up on appeal but the Writ of Cert was denied), have tried to jury verdict over 100 plus cases over my near 32 plus years in practice and thousands of Arbitrations and ADR’s. I have always been a trial lawyer in the true sense of the words, and would welcome you to contact anyone in the Philadelphia area to ask about my reputation (I could give you literally hundreds of names, from both sides of the bench, for references if needed). That, in and of itself, is my most proud accomplishment. I have also been fortunate to have a terrific working relationship with the Court and Judges in Philadelphia.
After passing the PA bar in 1982, I worked for myself and did some entertainment law with a sole practitioner (mostly entertainment law including the representation of then-popular singer Joan Jett!!) for a year or so, then with a sole practitioner doing small claims court cases and subrogation, but was then was hired in-house by Nationwide in 1984. I have worked on the defense side since then, with only three places (Sweeney Sheehan & Spencer, a private defense firm, for 7 -8 years, in-house for Continental/CNA for 7-8 years and then back with Nationwide staff counsel for the past 16 years, as a manger for the first 5-6 years and then as a senior Level 4 trial attorney).
Over the years, I have handled major commercial cases, wrongful death cases, product liability cases, construction defects, property damage claims, homeowner claims, dog bites, asbestos litigation and much more. However, I have also served as the sole arbitrator, as a neutral and as a mediator for many different firms, on both sides of the bar. I have no affiliation with any firm, plaintiff or defendant, so my role is always as an independent arbitrator/mediator when selected for cases. |
