Former Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania; Complex Commercial Arbitration and Mediation; As a federal judge tried, decided and authored opinions in all matters that come before federal courts, particularly in the areas of employment disputes, class actions, intellectual property, commercial and corporate disputes; Best Lawyers 2015 "Lawyer of the Year" in Arbitration for the Washington, D.C. region; Counsel, Co-Chair of ADR Practice Group, Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis; National and international ADR practice involving many of the world's leading corporations; Member of the American Law Institute; Fellow, College of Commercial Arbitrators; Board and Executive Committee member and member of the Complex Commercial Arbitration and Judicial panels of the American Arbitration Association; past Board and Executive Committee member and current member of the National Panel of Distinguished Neutrals of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR); Frequently serves as a moot court judge and provides strategic counseling in various federal appellate matters in circuit courts throughout the country, including anti-trust, intellectual property, securities fraud, contract disputes, corporate takeovers, employment disputes, pharmaceutical companies, constitutional issues, products liability, bankruptcy, environmental, and successor liability; Taught "Advocacy and Adjudication" as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. |
