• Ms. Hobson received her mediation training from the Center for Dispute Settlement in Washington, DC and from the American Arbitration Association. She graduated from Tulane Law School magna cum laude. She also has her bachelor’s degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and a master’s degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

• Ms. Hobson is a member of the Louisiana, New Orleans, and American Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. She is past president of New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity.

Kathy Hobson has been a practicing attorney since 1988 after a thirteen-year career in teaching and counseling. Immediately after law school, she clerked for the then Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, John A. Dixon, Jr. Subsequently, she began practicing law in the litigation section at Liskow & Lewis where she remained for twelve years, seven of them as a shareholder. In 2001, she opened her own private practice.

Ms. Hobson has broad litigation experience in substantive legal areas including employment, casualty, business, product liability, toxic torts, redhibition and civil rights. In these fields, she has represented the interests of plaintiffs and defendants, ranging from individuals to large international corporations. In addition to representing clients in litigation, Ms. Hobson regularly provides advice in all aspects of employment matters. She has also conducted training sessions in anti-harassment programs, and has spoken on a variety of employment-related topics such as retaliation, employment trends, telecommuting, employment practices liability, and ethical considerations in discrimination cases.
