Biography Martin Ritholtz joins Resolute after serving for sixteen years as a justice of the New York State Supreme Court of Queens County. He served in the Commercial Division from 2014 until his retirement in December, 2016. He presided over all manners of business claims and disputes, including business valuation proceedings, corporate and partnership disputes, class actions and complex commercial cases. Immediately prior to his appointment to the Commercial Division, Judge Ritholtz handled general litigation in the Supreme Court with an emphasis on personal injury, labor law, premises liability and property damage, negligence, medical malpractice and matrimonial law.

Early in his career, Judge Ritholtz clerked in Israel while earning his law degree – first in Jerusalem for Meir Gabay, then Deputy Attorney General and Commissioner of Patents, Trademarks and Industrial Designs; and following, in Tel Aviv under Dr. Amnon Goldenberg, who served as president of the Israeli Bar.

After law school he practiced law in Brooklyn. From 1978 until 1995 he was a Law Assistant and Principal Law Clerk for a number of Supreme Court Justices in Queens. While a Law Assistant and Principal Law Clerk he was involved in mediating many cases. In 1996 Judge Ritholtz was elected Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York. From 2001 to 2001 he was appointed as an Acting Supreme Court Justice. He was thereafter elected to the Supreme Court, Queens County in 2002.
