Education |
Daniel received a J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law in 1976. He received training in negotiation, mediation and arbitration from Harvard Law School in 1990 and advanced negotiation training from Harvard Law School in 2004. |
Memberships |
Dan is past chair of the Colorado Bar Association ADR Committee and has served as the co-chair of the Denver Bar Association ADR Committee. He has also served on the Colorado Bar Association Board of Governors. He has served on the board of several nonprofit community organizations and on local governmental task forces. Dan has taught alternative dispute resolution to graduate students at the University of Denver. He has planned and conducted a variety of training courses for private and governmental entities. He is a frequent lecturer and has published materials on dispute resolution and negotiations. |
Biography |
Daniel has been involved in several thousand disputes and cases as a mediator, litigator, facilitator and arbitrator. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants. Dan is on the arbitration panel and mediation panel of the National Association of Securities Dealers. He has served on the mediation and arbitration panels of the AAA. He has been appointed as special master and mediator in many cases by the Denver District Court.
Dan designed and implemented the commercial mediation program for the Colorado Judicial Department. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Early Neutral Evaluation Program and the Settlement Assistance Program in the Denver District Court. He trained the neutral panel for the ADR program in place at the Denver International Airport. He has designed many programs and conducted negotiation, mediation and skills development training programs. Dan has served as a consultant in the design of dispute resolution systems and dispute resolution procedures. |
