Biography | Justice Wiener has been engaged in private dispute resolution since January 1994, serving in more than 3000 cases as a mediator, arbitrator and private judge. His assignments have included business disputes, intellectual property, professional liability, insurance coverage including bad faith litigation, product liability, environmental cases and class action suits including securities fraud litigation. From 1978 to 1994, Justice Wiener was an Associate Justice of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division One. He also served on assignment to the California Supreme Court as well as an assigned settlement judge for the San Diego Superior Court. He was on the Superior Court for San Bernardino County from 1975 to 1978. Justice Wiener's nineteen years of general law practice were primarily devoted to business litigation. He was president of the Pomona Valley Bar Association, Trustee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and a member and Vice-President of the Board of Governors of the California State Bar. He was also a member of the Executive Board and Vice President of the California Judges Association. During the year 1977-1978, Justice Wiener taught alternative dispute resolution at Claremont Graduate School. He has also been an adjunct professor at the University of San Diego Law School (1979-1986) and California Western School of Law (1986-1994) teaching professional responsibility and appellate advocacy respectively | ||||||
