She began the private practice of law in New York City at Donovan, Leisure, Newton & Irvine where, from 1978 to 1983, she focused her practice on civil litigation. She worked on two multidistrict litigations, the In re Motion Picture Antitrust Litigation and the In re Screws Antitrust Litigation.

From 1983 to 1984, she practiced in-house at PepsiCo, Inc., where she worked in the areas of civil litigation, commercial transactions work and Federal Trade Commission and Food and Drug Administration compliance. She represents creditor clients and other parties in interest in Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases and in related adversary proceedings. She has represented creditor clients in several significant real estate asset cases, including In re Consolidated Pioneer Mortgage Entities, In re Foote Development Company, In re Leisure Technology, Inc., In re Aviara-5, Ltd. and In re Warner Springs Partnership.

She regularly represents bankruptcy trustees, including in such proceedings as In re Bavarian Castle, In re Casa Blanca Partnership, In re Total Condo Concepts and In re Riley Aircraft Manufacturing, Inc. She was admitted to the State Bar of New York in 1979 and to the State Bar of California in 1986. She is admitted to practice before all courts of the States of California and New York and in the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York and the Southern, Central, Eastern and Northern Districts of California.

She is a member of the California Bar Association (Sections on Commercial Law and General Litigation), San Diego County Bar Association (Bankruptcy Law Section, Community Services Committee and Alternative Dispute Resolution Section), San Diego Bankruptcy Forum, Women's Insolvency Network and Lawyers Club of San Diego.

She is a arbitrator and mediator for the San Diego County Superior Court, American Arbitration Association and National Association of Securities Dealers. She arbitrates fee disputes for the San Diego County Bar Association. She is on the Mediation Panel for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California and is a mediator for the San Diego Mediation Center.
