Biography |
John has over 35 jury trials involving sophisticated matters. He is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) the preeminent organization based on jury trial experience. His trial experience includes state and federal jury and court trials involving product liability, consumer products, ski bindings, aircraft accidents (fixed wing, rotorcraft, component, insurance coverage, and bad faith), toxic exposure, industrial chemical plant exposure, CERCLA, wrongful death, insurance coverage and bad faith, premises liability, construction (personal injury) and work-place exposure, security guard liability, commercial transactions and disputes, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) litigation, breach of contract, and automobile design liability. John has extensive experience in resolving medical device cases where he serves as national counsel. He continues to resolve cases involving catastrophic injury and death cases for Fortune 500 companies involving construction site and industrial accidents, exposure, “Prop 65†cases, power-press machines, punch presses, “Slitter†machines, gas turbines, forklifts, valves and pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and recreational products.
For several years, John served as the claims manager for an aviation general managing agent on behalf of Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s on a treaty and facultative basis.
John is a certified mediator and has served as a judge pro tem for the Los Angeles Superior Court pilot mandatory settlement conference program that he co-originated. He received advanced mediation skills training at Harvard College and Pepperdine University Law School Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution.
John has argued in the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California District Court of Appeal (published opinions). |
