For almost 43 years, Karl Brandes has practiced in the areas of civil trial and commercial litigation. His mediator (since 1992) and trial (since 1981) experience includes state and federal court work in the following areas: franchise and other trade regulation; trademark disputes; petroleum marketing; insurance coverage disputes; class actions; environmental; construction for engineer, architect, contractor and developer clients; condominium; ADA accessibility; professional liability for lawyer and engineer clients; noncompete agreement disputes; computer; personal injury, including catastrophic cases for self-insured and insured individuals and corporations; toxic tort; product liability; labor and employment; Fair Housing Act and other discrimination; and real property, which includes extensive land use work.

Karl is regularly recognized by The Best Lawyers rating service, Florida Legal Elite, Super Lawyers, and Franchise Magazine's Legal Eagles.

He is also very active as a member of the executive committee for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, with various pro bono representations, including those referred by Bay Area Legal Services, and supporting WMNF community radio in Tampa.
