Judge Bernard J. Goodheart served as a Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge for 31 years. During that time he spent 25 years exclusively in the Civil Division.

He has presided over tort and equity matters at the request of the Court. He is experienced in personal injury, medical malpractice, commercial litigation, product liability and insurance matters. He spent nine years in private practice and served eight years in the major crimes unite of the office of the District Attorney for Philadelphia County.

He has been a presenter at many CLE events particularly those sponsored by the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He also completed the National Judicial College Mediation program. In 2005 Judge Goodheart received the First Annual President Judge’s Award from President Judge Darnell Jones.
