Biography |
Judge Oxenhandler served as a Circuit Judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit (Boone and Callaway Counties) until his retirement in 2016. During his tenure on the bench he served as Presiding Judge for the Circuit and was assigned by the Supreme Court as a Special Master to hear matters throughout Missouri. He also presided over 200 + civil and criminal jury trials and thousands of settlement conferences. He conducted mediations and served as a member of, as well as acting as Chair, of the Missouri Sentencing Advisory Committee. Prior to joining the bench Judge Oxenhandler was in a private general practice firm in Columbia, Missouri and was active in the legal community serving as President of the Boone County Bar Association, the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Columbia’s Race Relations Task Force Since his retirement from the bench he has continued his membership on the Missouri Supreme Court Civic Education Committee as well as the Racial and Ethnic Fairness Commission. Judge Oxenhandler was awarded the Human Rights Diversity Enhancement Award from the University of Missouri and in October 2015 received the Missouri Supreme Court’s Circuit Judge Excellence award.
Judge Oxenhandler served in the U.S. Army and received his Bachelor’s Degree and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri. He continues to serve as a Senior Judge by appointment from the Missouri Supreme Court. |
