Biography |
Thomas Feinman is a former Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, Nassau County (2004-2020). Judge Feinman has extensive experience litigating and presiding over a wide an array of civil disputes, and has developed a reputation for settling difficult cases.
Feinman received his J.D degree from the Hofstra University School of Law. Feinman began his career in 1976 with Dalton & Henochs (1976-1977), and then the practiced law for the District Attorney's Office (1977-1979), Sale, Groothuis, & Feinman (1979-1980) and with Annibale & Feinman from 1980 until his judicial election in 1998. In addition, he has represented members of the Mets and Yankees with respect to various matters including their contracts, and has participated in baseball salary arbitration of members of their respective teams. He was elected to the Nassau County District Court in 1998 and to the Supreme Court in 2004.
His experience on the bench, combined with the time spent in private practice trying cases as both a defense attorney and plaintiff’s attorney, has given him a broad range of knowledge in numerous areas of the law and the ability to understand all sides and aspects of the cases he mediates. Judge Feinman employs a combination of facilitative and evaluative mediation, supplemented by his 45 + years experience as a litigator and judge. |
