Roslyn M. Litman combines legal skill, business experience and many years of advocacy in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels, including the Supreme Court of the United States. She has served as adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy at the University of Pittsburgh Law School, and is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Federal Lawyer of the Year (1999); Roscoe Pound Foundation's Award for Excellence in Teaching Trial Advocacy (1996); Pittsburgh Law School - Distinguished Alumni (1996); Woman of the Year, University of Pittsburgh Women's Assoc. (2001); Academy of Trial Lawyers Distinguished Service Award (2004); and University of Pittsburgh, Distinguished Alumni Fellow Award (2008).

A critical quality for a mediator is the experience gained in litigating and representing both sides. Roslyn Litman has the years of litigation experience as well as numerous successful mediations that contribute to the mediated settlement of disputes. She initiated the Mediation Program in the Western District of Pennsylvania when she was appointed in 1991 by the then Chief Judge as Chair of the Civil Justice Advisory Group to the Western District.
