Biography |
Richard C. Davidson is a former Utah District Court judge and Court of Appeals judge. Since returning home to Colorado in 1990, he has worked exclusively in the area of alternative dispute resolution. Judge Davidson has served as an arbitrator and mediator throughout Colorado and Utah on hundreds of cases. He also has been appointed as a special master by Colorado courts.
After serving in the United States Air Force from 1963-67, he attended the University of Utah and the University of Utah College of Law and obtained his law degree in 1971. A constant scholar, Judge Davidson also holds degrees in accounting, economics and business. Following law school, he practiced general business law and general litigation. Prior to his appointment to the District Court in 1982, he served as a city attorney for Vernal, Utah, as a deputy county attorney in Salt Lake and Uintah counties, and had extensive trial practice experience. As a district judge and volunteer traveling judge, Davidson served all of eastern Utah and most geographic areas of the state.
In 1987, he was appointed to the newly created Utah Court of Appeals in Salt Lake City, where he served as the first associate presiding judge and later as presiding judge. While serving on the Utah Court of Appeals, he attended the University of Virginia School of Law and graduated in 1990 with a master's of law degree in judicial process. |
