Having spent almost forty years in the courtroom presiding over and trying cases I am convinced that helping the parties resolve their issues by agreement is preferable and allows more flexibility in the terms of resolution than requiring a judge or jury to tell the litigants the terms of resolution.
I offer participants my experience in a vast array of matters. By serving as a State District Judge and as a litigator, I have an extensive background in family, civil and criminal matters. My experience allows me the balance and perspective necessary to help participants find a fair and agreeable solution to each matter. Having tried or presided over thousands of cases in many areas of law has given me the ability to understand all sides of a case.
I have been involved in cases ranging from family law, business law, condemnation, malpractice, construction and personal injury to probate. There is no matter that cannot be settled and my experience gives me an edge as a mediator unique among my peers in the mediation and arbitration community.
I have mediated hundreds of cases with over 85% success rate. I am able to mediate at any point in a dispute from pre-suit litigation all the way through full litigation. My reputation as an experienced and gifted mediator/arbitrator has earned me many referrals. My years as a district judge and as counsel for both Plaintiffs and Defendants give me a unique blend of perspective, professionalism and experience.
