Biography |
Since entering private practice in 1981, Mark has practiced exclusively in the field of civil litigation. His experience includes jury trials in wrongful death, medical malpractice, product liability, construction and auto accident cases. His appellate work has resulted in 16 published decisions in the New Hampshire Supreme Court and the U.S. First Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mark is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable insurance coverage lawyers in the State, representing insurers, insureds and insurance agents in more than 100 coverage disputes, and litigating many dozens of coverage cases over the past 22 years.
Trained by the American Arbitration Association and the New Hampshire Superior Court, Mark regularly serves as arbitrator or mediator in helping to settle other parties’ disputes. He brings that training and experience to bear in fairly resolving his own clients’ cases out of court when appropriate.
His proudest accomplishment was achieving a settlement of all claims arising out of the 1996 Alton Dam Collapse. Mark represented the owners of the dam as both defendants, in the many claims against them for death, injury and property damage; and as plaintiffs in the suits they brought against the designers and builders of the dam. By combining aggressive litigation tactics with an innovative mediation process, Mark was able to obtain a global settlement for his clients within just over one year from the date of the catastrophe.
