Memberships Jim is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association. He previously served as the Chair of the Evansville Bar Association ADR Committee, and has also served on the Council of the Labor and Employment Law and ADR Sections of the Indiana State Bar Association. In addition, Jim served as Contributing Author for the Employment and Labor Law Handbook for Indiana Lawyers (2005) published by the Indiana State Bar Association. He is a frequent speaker on a variety of labor and employment law and ADR topics and received and ABA Recognition Award as a Topic Author on How Arbitration Works, Elkouri, Fourth Edition. He has achieved the AV Preeminent rating from the Martindale & Hubbell legal directory. Jim was recognized in the 2011 Edition of Indiana Super Lawyers as one of the top labor and employment lawyers in the State of Indiana.
Biography Jim devotes approximately 25% of his practice to serving as a Neutral (both as a Mediator and Arbitrator) in Alternative Dispute Resolution proceedings. Certified as a Mediator in 1992, Jim has served as a court appointed Mediator in over 650 cases for the Circuit/Superior Courts in Vanderburgh, Gibson, Warrick, Posey, Pike, Spencer, Knox, Perry, Dubois and Marion counties in Indiana, as well as County Circuit Courts in Kentucky. Jim has also served as an Arbitrator/Referee in approximately 50 cases including as Referee for the Duke University Private Adjudication Center in the resolution of class action litigation claims. Jim was the recipient of the EBA Pro Bono Award (2005) for his service as a Mediator.
