Mr. Murty is licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court, 11th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals, the United States Federal District Court, in the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida. Past and present professional memberships include: the Florida Bar, the Kentucky Bar, the American Bar Association, Florida Association of Trial Lawyers, Dade County Bar Association, Marion County Bar Association, D. Biography |
Murty has been practicing law as a litigator for 30 years. He began his practice in Miami, Florida, as a sole practitioner, after graduating from Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky’s law school, in Lexington, KY, in 1982. In the last 30 years he has practiced full-time in areas of complex commercial litigation, personal injury, aviation and equine law in both State and Federal court.
As a mediator, Mr. Murty has the ability to incorporate a unique blend of personal experience and 25 years of litigation, business and ADR experience to facilitate resolutions for mediation and arbitration clients that are based on real-life, practical solutions. He is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Court and County Civil Mediator and is a Certified Florida Arbitrator. In 1992 Mr. Murty started the firm of Murty & Tome, P.A in Miami and continued to represent individuals and companies from a wide range of commercial arenas. His boutique business and litigation firm aided clients in general litigation, national and international mergers and acquisitions and business and contractual dealings, as well as general business issues. His clients included both national and international companies and individuals.
In 1998 he chose to return from Miami to Ocala where he began a practice as a sole practitioner. Since then he has concentrated his practice on commercial litigation, complex tort and product liability aviation defense, equine law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Mr. Murty first was involved in Alternate Dispute Resolution in the mid-80s as a Complex Commercial Litigation panel member for the American Arbitration Association. Additionally, he participated as a mediator for the state of Florida Department of Insurance.
He has guest lectured at Eastern Kentucky University and Florida International University in the areas of Alternate Dispute Resolution and Negotiation. He has been admitted to the bar in both Florida and Kentucky, and had been admitted “ad hoc†in other jurisdictions throughout his career. |
