Judge Marvin S. Kaminetz (Ret.) is currently engaged in private mediation, arbitration of civil litigation with a concentration in the areas of Family Law, Personal Injury, Real and Personal Property disputes. Judge Kaminetz practiced law in St. Mary’s County for 21 years before being appointed to the Circuit Court in 1989 and being elected thereafter to a 15 year term in 1990. He therefore brings over 40 years of experience to the resolution of disputes.
In the Family Law, in addition to 21 years of law practice before going on the Bench, Judge Kaminetz brings his 15 years experience as a Master for Juvenile Causes as well as his experience as a Director on the St. Mary’s County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Board. He also served on the St. Mary’s County Commission on Women. His background teaching in the Rape and Sexual Assault Prevention Program in the St. Mary’s County Public School System makes him uniquely qualified to evaluate and resolve disputes relating to children’s issues and their best interests.
Judge Kaminetz is a former Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court for St. Mary’s County, President of the St. Mary’s County Bar Association, member of the Maryland and American Bar Association as well as the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. He is widely respected and sought after as a mediator and Neutral evaluator of Family Law and other cases. |
