Biography |
Joe became interested in the concept of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in the early 1990's. This prompted him to become trained as an arbitrator and mediator. His trial skills honed over 3 decades give him unique insight and make him an effective Arbitrator or Mediator. He was one of the presenters at the first ADR Forum in Tennessee. He has been a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Listed Neutral since 1997 and participates in various ADR programs of the US District Courts in Tennessee.
Joe is a member of various Mediation and Arbitration panels including The American Arbitration Association, Resolute Systems and the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD)/FINRA. He is the Senior Author of the Tennessee ADR Handbook (The Harrison Co. 1997) and created the Tennessee Mediation Pocket Guide (2000). Joe is a Tennessee Supreme Court approved Rule 31 Neutral. Member of U.S. District Courts Mediation Programs for Eastern & Middle Districts of Tennessee. Mediated cases ranging from employment matters to accounting malpractice to medical malpractice to construction disputes to commercial issues and a variety of personal injury matters.
Joe has served as arbitrator in employment, construction, commercial, and personal injury cases. As an advocated, Joe represented both employers and employees in various areas of Title VII; Age; ADA; discrimination in public accommodation; and retaliatory discharge issues. He now serves as Arbitrator or Mediator in employment area. |
