With over 20 years judicial service on the San Francisco Superior Court and more than 10 years as a litigator with one of San Francisco's prominent Law firms, Judge Tom Dandurand brings his extensive experience to mediation and arbitration. Since his appointment to the bench in 1971, he has presided over cases in all areas of Civil Litigation. Cases coming under his judicial supervision included: Business Contracts; Real Estate issues; Insurance "Bad Faith", Jones Act and FELA cases; Employment Discrimination; Wrongful Termination; Landlord-Tenant; Medical and Legal Malpractice; Environmental and Toxic torts; Construction defects and a range of cases involving Personal Injuries. He has acted as the coordination trial judge on appointment by the Chief-Justice in class action cases that involved Insurance Coverage, Unfair Business Practices, Environmental Issues and Products Defects. He has also handled complex Discovery and law and motion disputes in multiple party cases, and presided over cases involving Declarative and Injunctive Relief.

Judge Dandurand has developed a reputation as an excellent mediator and settlement judge. He has been a lecturer at ABA attorneys on settlement techniques and he has acted as a panelist in judicial education seminars designed to teach new judges settlement skills.
