Biography |
Jim Streetman has represented a wide variety of clients in Mississippi and the southeast for almost 30 years. He has tried over 200 jury trials to verdict, including approximately 40 medical malpractice, hospital, medical products and nursing home cases. He has served as National Coordinating Counsel for several companies involved in mass tort litigation and as Southeast Regional Counsel for a major drug manufacturer. Jim has represented the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians for over thirteen years as Special Counsel and been involved in representing the Tribe in various Tribal and State Court matters. In addition, he has represented the Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise since 1998 and, since January 2008, has served as General Counsel, coordinating the legal staff and all gaming-related matters regarding Pearl River Resort, the second largest Native American gaming complex in the United States. Jim serves on the Board of Business Counsel, Inc., a nationally recognized commercial litigation group, which regularly presents programs to companies not only in the United States, but around the world. He has authored many articles on physician, hospital and nursing home liability and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences. Most recently, he presented a program on “Defending Corporate America in the Rural South†to a national organization of corporate counsel. In addition to his active law practice, he is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Mississippi College School of Law and sits as Special Master in Hinds County Chancery Court. |
