Biography |
Judge Hilyer was appointed to the King County Superior Court by Governor Gary Locke on July 1, 2000 and served until January 13, 2013. Before taking the bench, he worked as a King County Deputy Prosecutor (1979-81), and served as Legal Counsel to the Mayor of Seattle (1982-85). In 1985 he entered private practice with the firm Cohen, Andrews, Keegan & Goeltz, then practiced complex civil litigation with Culp, Guterson & Grader from 1988-94. In 1994 he opened the Law Offices of Bruce Hilyer until he was appointed to the bench. In private practice, Judge Hilyer litigated numerous civil cases in the field of real estate, corporations, securities and commercial transactions, environmental liability, estate and probate, and health law. |
