Education Rick received his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law.
Memberships He is a Member of the Board of Directors for the Mediation Council of Western PA; a member of The Steering Committee for The Kaplan Lecture; past member of the ADR and Elder Law Committees of the Allegheny County Bar Association; the American Bar Association; the Association for Conflict Resolution. Rick is Risk Manager for the Pittsburgh Chapter of C.I.S.V. (Children's International Student Villages).
Biography

Rick has been practicing mediation and conflict resolution since 1977. An experienced neutral, Rick was first trained by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service in Dispute Resolution and Mediation in 1977.

Rick is a pioneer in the mediation field, helping create CDR Associates, in Boulder, CO in 1977. Rick has conducted over 500 mediations relating to workplace conditions, family law and child custody, estate & elder law.

Presently, Rick is an approved mediator for the US District Court, Western District of PA; the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; the US Postal Service; and the TSA. Rick is a Certified Elder Law Mediator, has Advanced Training Certification from The Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation and Association for Conflict Resolution.

He presents workshops for the Federal Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, Westmorland County Bar Association, the Bankruptcy Court, Western District of Pennsylvania, The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Institute, the Pittsburgh Public School System, and the Woodland Hills Public School System.
