Education Judge Webber attended Purdue University and received his J.D. degree in 1974 from Valparaiso University. He is also a graduate of the Indiana Judicial College. He has attended many specialized judicial courses at the National Judicial College, University of Nevada, Reno campus, including specialized training and certification in mediation and arbitration.
Memberships During his judicial tenure Judge Webber chaired the Northwest Indiana section of the Committee that drafted the Indiana Rules of Evidence. He is a past president of the Porter County Bar Association and Past President of the Porter County American Inns of Court. He is also a member of the Indiana Judge's Association and the Indiana Bar Association. He chaired the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the Judicial Conference of Indiana. As Chairman of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee he guided the 2001 Indiana survey of civil and domestic relations mediators and the 2001 Alternative Dispute Resolution Rule amendments to the Indiana Trial Rules.
Biography

Thomas W. Webber, Sr., retired from the Porter Superior Court Two after serving thirteen year as Judge. He was three times elected to this position. Porter County Superior Court Two is a general jurisdiction court in the Superior Division. Judge Webber also served nine months as the Judge Pro Tem of Lake Superior Court Three, Criminal Division. He was appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court following the removal of the sitting Judge by the Indiana Supreme Court.

Following this assignment, Judge Webber was named a "Distinguished Hoosier" by Indiana Governor Daniels. Judge Webber was also appointed as Pro Tem Judge and supervisor of the Lake County Superior Court, Domestic Relation Division, for a period of six months following the death of the regular Judge. Judge Webber was twice named by the Judicial Nominating Commission as a panel finalist referred to the governor of Indiana for possible appointment to the Indiana Court of Appeals. Prior to assuming the bench he practiced law for fifteen years in Portage, Indiana. Judge Webber served the City of Portage, Indiana as a police officer for twenty years (1959 to 1979) before beginning full time law practice. He currently serves on the Senior Judge Committee of the Judicial Conference of Indiana.
