James A. Brown is a full-time labor arbitrator and mediator.

He has been engaged in labor relations for nearly thirty years, and began his career advocating on behalf of labor unions and management interests in both the public and private sectors.

He has spoken before various bar associations on issues related to labor and employment law and on the topic of labor arbitration in particular.

He has contributed columns to the New York Law Journal, and wrote a monthly column for New York City's public employee newspaper, The Chief-Leader.

In addition, he has taught CLE courses on labor and employment law, and was invited to speak as an expert before the New York City Charter Revision Commission on the topic of administrative judicial reform. He was also invited to speak before the New York City Council on matters related to public sector employment law.
