Mr. Widman is a nationally recognized commercial arbitrator, mediator and litigator. For over 35 years he has handled complex matters in areas such as healthcare, sales and commercial code, employment, insurance, partnerships and corporations, construction and real estate, intellectual property, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, computers and e-commerce, utilities and telecommunications, environmental, licenses, securities, and franchises. As an arbitrator or mediator, over the past 24 years, parties have entrusted over $1.6 billion of domestic and international commercial disputes, including class actions, to arbitrate or mediate. He has authored hundreds of awards, orders and rulings.

Mr. Widman has been a frequent author, teacher, and presenter on litigation and ADR topics. He has published 25 articles, chapters, or guidebooks; has spoken at over 50 ABA or other bar association and industry programs; has been on the national teaching faculty of the American Arbitration Association for 14 years; and has taught commercial arbitration at DePaul University School of Law.
